Florida summer’s are brutal, especially for the ladies sporting long mythical elvin hair.
That humidity just breeds sweat beads down your neck and your only alleviation is scrunchie messy buns all summer long.

From Halle Berry to Anne Hathaway, so many people are trending a cropped pixie. For people who misconstrue short haircuts to look masculine, they obviously don’t know the critical points that create the perfect pixie for every head shape. Short tops can create a slender long neck that opens to a beautiful neckline and look very dainty. For choppy short layers and etched out lines, that could be for someone who wants an edgier look like pop singer Pink. All these variation styles could also be created with any short haircut determined by what products are used as well.
Take my friend for example. This is Elysia, she’s the main photographer I work with for most of my editorial shots as well as freelancing for wedding photoshoots. We’ve colored her hair all colors of the rainbow and now we’ve been more experimental on haircuts. On this day I used her as a model for one of J Bauman’s Advanced Cutting Classes taught by our Bumble and Bumble Salon Educator Teryn Tucker.
Elysia has been tinkering with shorter cuts and I decided for today to gun it and go much shorter than what we have been doing which was a little bit of an asymmetrical bob. She likes it low maintenance and presentable when visiting clients. This cut also matches her style, which plays on the creative side when she’s capturing her infamous cosplay shoots.
The end look brought out her cheek bones and opened up her cute face that must be shown to all!
Style wise I prepped her towel dried hair with Bumble and Bumble’s Tonic as well as Don’t blow It Thick Hairstyler. Then I hand dried her hair using tension with my finger tips to easily create volume for this easy breezy cut. To finish her off, I used BB Creme Contour on her ends, which gives a light hold but still gives definition to her layers which gives a wispy effect.
