Pravana Vivids Locked In

Have you ever felt like people were judging you at the gas pump, eyeing your red stained hands, assuming that you just fled a horrific mass murder scene? Well, welcome to my life. A problem I and so many face when working with Pravana’s Vivid Colors.

However, there might be a solution to our dilemma because I’m super excited to announce my review on Pravana Vivids Locked-In Colors. This past week, my dear friend, Elysia Griffin, agreed to be my guinea pig, while IM Photography documented my experimental phoenix block color MUWAHAHAHA!

Pravana Vivids Locked In

The “Locked-In” line is apart of the infamous Pravana Chromasilk Vivid family. To differentiate from their alternative lines such as Neon, Pastel, and of course the Original Vivids, this new line that launched June 2015, has 6 colors and are all customizeable. Their selling point is precision placement, for the ability to create patterns in the hair, such as stripes, that claim to Not Transfer. Yes, this magical line, will help from colors bleeding on to another.

I test this theory by using the Locked-In Colors, Red and mixed Red and Yellow to create, duh, Orange. The results were impressive.

Pros

  • Easily can maneuver through the hair
  • Did Not bleed onto hands
  • Did Not bleed within sections
  • The water ran clear fast

Cons

  • Must saturate hair, not true to swatch
  • Took a bit to blowdry
  • Slimy consistency

Overall I’m pretty satisfied with Pavana’s Locked-In colors. I definitely will play around with them alot more, and with trial and error becomes perfection, Yas!
